Red Route, Hard. 40km, 4-5 hrs bike or 10 hour hike.
This is a classic route, described in a clockwise direction on the Burma Road, from Aviemore to Carrbridge. This red-granite hard-core track has been known as the Burma Road since the 1940s and is named after the more famous wartime road in Asia. It is a long strenuous route and should only be attempted by the fit and well equipped.
Start at Linwilg just south of Aviemore. Take care reaching the start point as it involves crossing the busy A9. Proceed west…..

Hot Tip Do not miss the spectacular and historic Sluggan Bridge on the old Wade military road near Carrbridge.
